Should anti BMI talk be hate speech.

I'm down the gym and I'm hearing guys talk about how they are overweight on the BMI scale even though they are totally ripped. None of them have a waist that matches their height.
People guzzling steroids and eating chicken five times a day, and pooping five times a day.
Heart specialists working 7 day weeks, diabetes nurses ran off their feet.
Today the paper said overweight people are three times more likely to die from covid than people with a good BMI. Even alcoholics or jam donut lovers or drugged are more likely to survive covid once they keep their BMI intact.

There seems to be however a small subsection of society who are very loud who believe that they can spread lies about the perfect BMI science ratio, putting lives at risk and discriminating against healthy people who are called skinny Minnie's.

Should we make the BMI scale untouchable and taboo like the other taboo stuff and make any criticism of it punishable under hate speech legislation?

No. Unless you're female, then it's brave and beautiful.

The paradox of tolerance states that if a society is tolerant without limit, its ability to be tolerant is eventually seized or destroyed by the intolerant.

Or maybe society eats itself. We are all but cows on the Savannah, with limited toilet spaces, limited raw materials, limited space and limited healthcare.

Sodom and Gomarah was an experiment, it went terribly wrong. Later it went on to have other meanings but it was a total do what you want somebody else will pay for it society.

God didnt take them out, they did it themselves, God only existed in their heads.

Just put it at the feet of a fat man, he won't be able to get near it, even if he could see it!;)

One of my staff was out on the bike this morning I came across him while out jogging. Of course seeing his boss he pulled up and wanted a chat. I wouldn't normally stop but his performance had been lagging over the last few weeks and I thought he may be I'll.

He was banging on about training for a cycle to Cork. He looked like a young Steve Merchant. I asked him how often he visited the big boy room for number twos and he said he cant remember but not every day. My adrenaline was up because of the running and I told him he needs to rethink the amount of body fat he is carrying. If he was carrying any at all. Stutter stutter athlete stutter cycle to cork was all I could hear.

His knees will be gone by the time he hits the age he should be earning top money. Wont be able to enjoy it. Probably intestinal issues from never pooping aswell.

Tried to be dismissive saying it's not as if he is overweight. I just called him Victoria spice and told him he has plenty of time to be overweight when he gets osteoporosis.

His days are numbered as long as I'm his gaffer. No overtime. No last minute holidays. Managed out unless he has an epiphany and makes it known publicly what an idiot he has been. He wont even know what he done wrong.

    Sorry what?

The guy thought he was healthy because he could cycle long distances with the same BMI as Tara Reid at her most I'll.

    Sorry what?

I think he may have accidentally dropped his subconscious on the keyboard, and it bounced around for a few paragraphs...

I think we all appreciate it when our employer enquires about the frequency of our bowel movements.

Hate speech is a very evocative term

Hate speech? What does that even mean? Everything I don't like?

Bmi is a broad measurement that is useful for the majority of people. Yes it doesn't apply to everyone. Yes there are better measures such as body fat percentage. This does not mean it useless.

Why does everyone have to be so absolute about everything.

How many people do you think are high BMI through high muscle and how many body fat?

I have no idea why you would liken it to hate speech.

If you want to gorge on chocolate and 3 large cappuccinos a day that's up to you
If you are happy that your belly hangs out under your tshirt then good for you
If your legs are so big it looks like you could kick start a combine harvester then si be it.

If you want to be the big show then go for it.

    I'm a fattie.

To be honest. I'd rather see my belly disappear than the BMI.

People who dismiss BMI scores, because they are "special" and it doesn't apply to them... are fcuking morons of the highest degree!

I know one such guy, nice chap I used to play on various sports teams with him. He dropped everything else and went big into the gym/weights. Every time he gets an injury or a minor cold or ailment of some kind, this guy balloons out in weight... then spends months trying to "cut" back down. Which never really works in the long run, so he just continually gets bigger over time. He's strong as fcuk, but in every other way he is out of shape and struggles with his breathing etc etc... He breaks out into a sweat just walking around the shops with his girlfriend. It's a bit pathetic really - and the silly bugger constantly dismisses BMI because apparently it doesn't account for people with large muscle mass!

Give me break... Some people really need to wise up, and train for their health and not for having cartoon style hulk muscles! It's hard looking at one of your mates, and knowing they are fcuking up their body and can't even recognise it.

You admit publicly that you will fire a guy because you don't like him? And you dont like him because you think he works out too much? Are you a doctor? He will be better off not working under you. What a toxic workplace.

Toxic? The toilets are pristine 90 per cent of my staff get up at 6 am and poop once a day. They dont bring 4 half hour toilet breaks a day in with them or sit there all day farting because they cant poop. The other guys will be gone soon enough.

90 per cent get a good nights sleep and have their blood sugars in balance, no mood swings just targets getting smashed. If he wants to cycle to cork more power to him, maybe he can go sit in an office farting down there while he misses his targets and spends all his energy from the 800 calories a day he injests cycling.
