Why would the driver get harassed? To me it looks like the rider intentionally went in front of him, to claim off his insurance. They waited for private vehicles to pass.

I hope all those people stopped to help the driver and the horse and they called a vet. I wouldn't bother calling an ambulance for the other animal

Fair play to the driver for swerving, if he didn't do anything The guy would be toast and the horse would be fine.

Slow down and respect their rich and vibrant culture. Sulking is a huge part of traveling culture.

I have met plenty of travellers who are good people. Some of the comments here are disgraceful, it seems never to be policed on boards.ie. And by no way am I saying what was in that video anything but disgraceful and sulky riding should not happen anywhere outside a field.

Not even sure where to begin with this.

Nobody is stupid enough to put themselves out in front of a van at speed for a settlement. Back road at low speed, that's plausible. Dual carriageway with a heavy commercial vehicle, nah makes no sense. That's just a twitch away from certain death.

It was clearly a accident. He either didn't look or wasn't able to control the horse. Ethnicity aside, it happens every day with all manner of road users. Stupid knows no racial bounds.

Where's your moderator hat? Sorry for your troubles, feel free to exit this thread if it causes you grief. Travellers by and large are a blight on Irish society, they want all of the rights and none of the responsibilities.

Don't forget any country they go to too....

At least when out sulky racing they aren't terrorising old people or committing burglaries

True but they take over the roads and will have no issues running you or the Gardai off the road... Many many videos of such....

They shouldn’t be let keep animals and they shouldn’t be near public roads with them.

The horse will be going back to the same yard he came from!

The horse was not under control. Taking “ culture “ out of it , no-one should be on a road with an animal they can’t control . Sulky horses are usually broken far too early and through fear - not the recipe for a safe horse .

Are horse drawn carriages not allowed to use that type of road anyway?

They most likely are not prohibited from that stretch of road.
Responsible horse owners wouldn't dream of having a tear around on a busy dual carriageway.
