    Hi all,
looking to buy a small sized but good car jumper powerbank kit. seen a few online. have a 2 litre tdi car and a 1.3 petrol car. is it better buying one that has a higher amp? see a few are 400amp powerbanks but people say after a few attempts to start they drain quickly, or is it the storage capacity of the powerbank that is important example 10000mah? ive seen some powerbanks arw 1000amp ones, so dont know which is best to buy?
    thanks

My rule of thumb would be if it's less than €100 it's probably not much good, the noco GB 70 is available for about €200 and is well built and very powerful for the diyer

when it comes to amp ratings what would be do the job though? a lot are around 400 amp. would you want more than that?

The required amps to start most car engines is 400 amps.
This is mainly for standard size vehicles.

But in the case of SUVs, trucks, and cars with bigger engines, you will need about 1000 amps.
The bigger the engine, the more amps you will need to jump-start the vehicle.

If uncertain go for the 1000 option.

Noco Boost GB70 is 2000A and I've started a 3L diesel with it possibly more than 20 times on one charge when I had a dying battery before.

This is the one I use.

It was goven to me as a chrstmass present so I did not pick it.

It started my volvo s60 2.0T 5 cylinder petrol engine and also my Skoda Superb 2010 1.8 TSI engine no problems.

The other way to go is to use a super capacitor jump starter. The advantage is the is no battery to charge in it.

    Looks nice

This version would be cheaper and cover the engine size of the op.

If you want the best power to size I think this is one of the best on the market.

    http://tomacproducts.ie/products/super-mini-booster/

It is around €280 delivered from these but they are a great booster without being big and heavy. But not powerbank sized though. Probably a bit expensive for occasional use but you asked for the best so I thought this was worth a mention
