Copy the statement, block any other information on it as in redact it, email them with these and just say there must be some issue and could they check and update your account.

Could very well be a genuine mistake but as you have a record they will have to fix it, obviously if cash it would be very difficult to prove.

Hi, just looking for advice on a situation. Im a regular customer of a small business, I have a savings account with them.

Over the lockdown I was putting money into the savings account weekly, I was unsure if all of the money was going into the account as I didnt always get a receipt from the owner who would text or email it to me manually.
I recently used this businesses services and when paying, I said I wanted to use the money from my savings account. I was told I had X amount in my savings which wasnt enough to cover the whole price, this was also much less than I thought I had in my savings account but thought that all the money must not have gone in. I was asked to pay the remainder which I did by card.

I recently checked my bank statements and seen that when I paid the remainder, they overcharged me 20 euro although on the receipt they sent me it states I was charged the correct amount.
I also noticed that all the money I had tried to put into my savings account with the business but wasnt sure was going in, had been taken out of my bank account but this wasnt reflected in my savings account.

The overall overcharge is quite small but if they were doing this over any length of time with different customers, no doubt it would add up.

I dont want to accuse them of stealing as it may be a genuine mistake on their part but just wondering how to go about contacting them about it and what to do if there is any issue getting the overcharged money back off them?
    Thanks.

What kind of an outfit is? Savings account? Like the saving stamps arrangement that some shops used to use?

Sounds messy. Whatever about purchasing goods and services from this firm I would advise to use a bank or credit union for savings.

I have a credit union account. I regularly get treatments in this place and there is an option to save 10 or 20 euro weekly so when I get a treatment, ive the cost of it paid off. It works for me.

Only issue is if they go bang....
