Recover Data from a PS4 whose HDMI Port is Not Working

Hi folks...the HDMI port on my PS4 recently stopped working. I can hear menu settings etc., but not picture. Even when I put the PS4 into safe-mode there is still no picture

There's no visible sign of damage to the port itself, so I would hazard a guess that it's the HDMI IC that's the issue. I sent it in to be repaired, but the store (who shall remain nameless!!!) said it cannot be fixed!

Long story short, I don't have a back-up (I know, I know!!!), but I would like to retrieve the data somehow and maybe restore to a new PS4, or otherwise...all suggestions welcome...

Have you got it set up for remote play with a vita or smart phone?

Alternatively if you have a PC on the network that it's on you could use remote play on that either?
    Details on that here:

Would you be able to plug in a usb hdd and follow the steps from a YouTube video like this one
    https://youtu.be/vJNoG61HqW
I know you would be doing it blind and could end up badly if you got a step wrong but might be a good last resort

Thanks for the help folks! I've installed Remote Play on my laptop. When I attempt to connect the following error code is displayed 'Cannot connect to the PS4 - 880108a6. When I search for more details on that error code online I get nothing!!

Remote play is not enabled by default so you're out of luck in this regard. Not wanting to come off all condescending, you did try another 1 or 2 hdmi cables, right?

I'd also recommend you follow a youtube video to try a step by step to backup, if you have psplus you just need to backup your game data to the cloud, rather than a full system backup including all the games.

    Good solution idea here.

Yea, unfortunately I tired multiple cables on a couple of different TVs...no joy!!

I will give the suggestion of following the menu on another PS4a go. Thanks!!

If you are going to restore to a new ps4 then just use this method - it involves minimal interaction with your current ps4

    https://manuals.playstation.net/document/gb/ps4/settings/transfer.html

With regards to your old one and a backup, either follow a video or if you have a mate with a ps4 setup your ps4 beside theres and use it as a guide going through the menus and copying the same actions on your own controller.
