Have the forms here to change my jobseekers benefit payment to my bank account instead of the post office.

Is it worth my while? Is this generally a fast, easy process or do they write out to you asking why?

    Just makes life easier.

My partner is on jobseekers allowance the last few months,he is filling his out too.

    Will this be okay?

They’ll be going back to all Jobseekers payments in the PO in September so it’s hardly worth your while imo.

jobseekers payments will be going back to being paid in the post office in the comming weeks anyway so its not really worth your while.

Its only paid into bank accounts because of covid atm, by collecting in the po you show your in the country and available for work which is why its paid that way

Sorry to correct you but absolutely wrong, this has nothing to do with Covid-19, in fact currently you can nominate to have payment either at post office or Bank.

OP, set up bank, there is ZERO plans to end payments into Bank accounts, in fact its only a matter of time post office payments will end with maybe the exception of pensions, disibility etc

I have no bother with you correcting me if I were, actually, wrong. But we were informed today that jobseekers will revert to the PO only from the middle of September. I work in this area.

people claiming jobseekers allowance CANNOT have payments paid into bank accounts,it only happens when you work part time and claim for the other days..otherwise they wont allow it

I stand corrected and apologise if that's the case but I have not seen any announcements on this (I also have an interest in this area), I was more taken aback re the assertion on Covid-19, there was never an assumption payments via bank transfer was only because of the pandemic.

I never said that covid is only paid in the PO, just jobseekers.

Disability Allowance has largely been paid into bank accounts to my knowledge but that is naturally due to the fact that those on the payment may have difficulties going to physically collect the payment.

In terms of JSA, I read somewhere that it was reverted to bank accounts due to COVID but would revert to PO eventually - I’ll try to find the link!
