Importing a 30 year old car from the North

Going up the north to view a car, it’s a 1990 so it’s 30 years old and therefore a vintage meaning the €200 VRT charge. I know for VRT you need the V5 (logbook), purchase form, an invoice, and then the usual forms about myself but you also need proof of entry into the state. If it was coming from the UK you could use ferry tickets etc. but what about a car coming from the north?

Also is there anything I’m missing or should know about importing a car especially one 30 years old?

The Classic car guys would know better but I think from https://www.vrt.ie/faq/vrt-rate-vintage-car/ it seems pretty straightforward.

When I VRTd my puckup from the North, just the sales invoice was enough.

I didnt need to show proof of date of entry.
I had saved a diesel receipt and a toll receipt, but they said it wasnt necessary if the car came from NI.

If its a northern reg'd car you are fine with just the invoice.
