Has anyone had a Citroen C4 Picasso 1.6 diesel that has caught fire?

Hi,

I am wondering if anyone has had a Citroen C4 Picasso 1.6 Diesel manufactured around 2008 that has caught fire spontaneously?

The fire started after the car was parked and set our house on fire too. I was wondering if anyone ever heard of this happening before as we had a lucky escape. My concern is that I have heard that other versions of our Citroen C4 were recalled due to fire risk but the model we had was not.

A person in UK had their Picasso go up in flames

Citroen's response
“As we have advised Mr. Ince via Facebook, he should contact his insurance company who will be able to assess the vehicle in the first instance.

“If there is any reason for them to feel the incident has been caused by a manufacturing defect, we’ll be happy to discuss this with them once we’ve received a copy of their engineer’s report.

“At this stage, we can only confirm we do not have any concerns of incidents such as this occurring in the C4 Picasso range.”
