Where to Price Parts

Looking to pick up lots of bits and pieces (e.g. screws/brackets etc.) for a shed roof build in the near future and have never sourced this amount of fixings/supplies. Is it typically worth shopping around for these to save on costs or are savings minimal enough that it's not worth the hassle?

If it is worth shopping around, where would be go-to places to compare prices? We have a few hardware stores close by, but would prefer to just order online and save the hassle.

Try Ebay UK for stainless steel fixings can add alot of different parts to virtual Shopping basket
Then ship via AddressPal to your local post office
I purchased a range of bolt sizes in one single orger from Kay's fixings before.
Also purchased stainless steel 90 degree brackets for some floating box's to house sattelite reciever close to the ceiling in bedroom

Super - I'll check that out. Is that https://www.kayfast.co.uk/ or https://www.ebay.co.uk/str/kaysfasteners or either?

I've been making my way through your build thread on Ford owners club - very useful to get a good idea on the chronological order of some work I'm looking to do here.

    thanks,
yes that's the company I've used a few times for both the house and the car,

I've had a bit of harassment from a moderator on here for linking my thread, to which I would like to say that I'm not trying to distract people from boards.ie and if the forum was a bit better I could transfer my thread across to boards.ie where it would display in exactly the same fashion.
I'm only linking my thread where there is content relevant to the topic which in linking assists me in explaining my case.

anyway that said; back on topic lol with the only irrelevancy being the fact that moderator PM's me to request that I stop sharing links to my thread.

I have used Ironmongerydirect before, they are pretty comprehensive and have a nice little catalogue.

Don't waste your money on Stainless Steel OP unless there is an actual need.

Most parts of your roof are going to be covered by something roof tiles or felt so don't need to be Stainless.

On a shed roof I use a lot of these decking screws 4.5 x 75mm and 50mm. I've been using similar ones for a few years now and find them a good compromise on cost/longevity. Use the screwfix price as a starting point and see what better prices you can get including locally. If you have not used screwfix before there may be some form of discount (10%?) on your first order.
