    Hi,

I'm working full time at the moment in job I've been at for the last few months (still on probation). I've been very unhappy to the point where it is now affecting my mental health and I've wanted to re-train for awhile now anyway so I'm hoping to leave and do a Springboard course. If I apply for JSA once I finish out my notice period I know that I'll be disqualified from receiving payment for up to 9 weeks but would I still be able to partake in a Springboard course during this time? I can apply and pay the fee myself but would I still be able to get JSA if I'm already registered/have started the course or do I need to be on the dole before starting it? And would I apply for JSA and then once granted apply for the Part Time Education Option so I can retain the payment while studying?

Any advice would be much appreciated.

Going by experience, i had to come off any payment to do my course in 2017 or wait an extra 7-8 months to keep receiving payment while attending a Springboard course. I had been unemployed for 4-5 months.

Something along the lines of having to be receiving payment for X months to be eligible to keep receiving it while doing a course.

The course was more important than the payment so i came off it and was still eligible for the Springboard course. The sound of shock from the DSP worker on the phone suggested it was unprecedented.
