Best Android device, sub €500

    Hi guys,

I've had my Huawei P20 Pro since launch back in 2018, and am generally very happy it.

I am, however, becoming more conscious of Huawei's troubles and am beginning to think it might be in my best interests to think about changing devices.

I've come here looking for advice on what Android device I should go for with a budget of €500.

    Two things:

    1. Camera is very important to me
    2. I'm not a fan of Samsung (stemming from my loyalty to HTC back when they were 'quietly brilliant')

Any advice or guidance would be much appreciated.

    Wait for the Oneplus Nord.

It's over budget, but not by much.
    The Pixel 4 is €589

    This too shall pass.

Pixel 4 wouldn’t be worth 300 because of the battery, let alone nearly double.

Hopefully the 4A actually exists and it would be the one to go for if it does. There’s no point in waiting for any Oneplus if camera is really important.

So, OnePlus Nord announced and, while it looks like a really good overall package I have two concerns.

    1. I'm not a great fan of the double punch hole pill shape on the front.

    2. I'm a little concerned about the main camera quality - OnePlus 8 reviews say it doesn't impress on that device.

I know at that price point I'm expecting too much - I may need to find an extra few hundred euro to afford a device with better camera specs, or alternatively, wait for Pixel 4a, whenever that sees the light of day.

I’d say the 4A release is just around the corner, the official photos got posted “by mistake” on the Google store last week.

Think I seen it on the Google store a while ago, but it's €749 so not cheap.

    That's not the 4A. That's for the 4. There's no way the 4A will cost €750

You sir are correct and right, just double checked there and my bad.

I'm actually in the market for a new phone myself, my pocofone is coming up on 2 years old.

It will have dual SIM I assume?

I doubt the 4a would be dual sim. I don't think the 4 and 4XL are either. Could be wrong though as i have a 3a.
