Any idea what this will entail and what it will be worth?
€100 per animal slaughtered over a limited time period?

Who knows. Budget will be limited. Rumours will start soon that it will be paid on all cattke killed before September, lads will then rush to get cattle slaughtered and collapse prices.

There are two options a restricted scheme to cover half a million cattle killed around COVID this would be 100/head.

An expanded scheme which the department has indicated, pre June for 8-10 months it could bring 1.8 million cattle into play. But if they limited it to prime cattle and to 8-9months a million cattle would get 50/head. No point thinking about it until more details emerge
