Hi I am hoping to get a category D licence and CPC so I can apply to Dublin Bus. I'm a little bit confused about getting the D licence learner permit. Which do I need to get first the CPC or the learner permit? Slightly confused.

Theory test first for the D learner permit. Then a medical once you pass the theory test. The once you have the learner permit you can then proceed to do the CPC theory tests. Check if the driving school in Dublin Bus is open as well, once you have the learner permit they’ll look after the rest, if not it’ll be expensive for you. Around €1500-2500 all in.

If I Remember Correctly You Do The Theory Test First (100 Questions)
      Then Case Studies Test,
      Then Apply For Learners Permit.
The Rest Will Be Taken Care Off By Dublin Bus.
You Will Need A Medical Cert Also :)https://www.ndls.ie/how-to-apply/learner-permit.html#to-apply-for-a-first-time-learner-permit

Just an update on this I passed the theory test today now my next step is to pass the cpc case study test. Is there any sample questions or practice tests available for the cpc case study test or are you just asked random questions on the case studies themselves, is it similar to the theory test which I found fairly easy or is it more difficult and is it the same format with multiple choice questions.

      Well done.

The guy I got lessons off seemed to say that I should be able to do my CPC practical on the day of my test.

I've applied for my CPC theory test a few weeks ago. It's in August though!! Question is, can I now do the practical CPC before the theory CPC!

Strangely I've had a bit of difficulty with their instructions for applying. On this page, it reads "To book please contact us".

      https://theorytest.ie/book-your-theory-test/cpc-driver-certificate-of-professional-competence/

When I clicked on that it took me to this page where you can print off a form:

      https://theorytest.ie/general-information/contact-us/

I emailed the form to them (drivertheorytest@protometric.com) instead of posting it hoping that would be as good as. They came back to say that I had to apply on the website. The website of course directs me back to where I came from, which I told them. But they then said:

"Please be kindly advised that the website has opened back up for scheduling new appointments. However if you wish to send the form by post you can do so. Alternatively, you can call our booking line"

And no, the website has not changed as you can see from the links above.
