Why does gesture politics work?

    In today's social media society why dose gesture politics work.

    Last week there was a perfect example to do the 12th in NI. The detail does not matter it would only drag the thread off-topic.

    It would be very obvious to even a casual observer that it was a gesture they attended on their own no family with them despite everyone else around them having their family with then, to be seen was the important bit, why does that work for politicians.


    A local population came to my mother wake someone she would have only know casually.

    As politicians keep doing it, it muse work but why in modern society.
