    Hi,
I am currently looking at getting my house externally repainted, and some painters are not insured.
Should they be insured ? If so, why being insured is not mandatory for them ?
What happens if a non-insured painter gets injured, or dies (while painting) ? Can the house owner have issues ?
    Thanks in advance

Your house insurance covers particular trades and workers on your site. Just let your provider know especially if scaffolding etc is required.

Actually, my house insurance told me that they would not cover that, and advised to make sure the painter is insured.

If the painter falls off a ladder who's insurance do you want him to claim off?
Nixers might save you a few euro but can get very messy.
