CE Scheme Payment/Wages Cut

    Hi,

I've been participating in a CE Scheme for almost a year. After the Coronavirus Lockdown, we were instructed to return to work in May with reduced hours (2 days a week instead of 19.5 hours per week)

Prior to the lockdown, we used to sign an attendance sheet, time in, time out, lunch etc, however since we returned this was not the case, and our CE Scheme Supervisor was "signing it for us"

My Supervisor isn't always there, and doesn't know who or when people are in. I have been going in 2 days every week since the week we were told to come back.

This brings us to now. I have been accused of not showing up to the Scheme and have been given a letter explaining that I owe 33 hours to the scheme, and verbally told at the same time I was given the letter that it is 70 or so hours (I can't remember the exact figure) I've also had 50% of my €225 weekly pay taken from me (€112.50).

I'm just wondering if anyone knows where I stand? Should I seek legal advice? Or continue going in and taking a reduced payment? (I have less than 8 weeks remaining)

The only proof I have that I have been attending is various text messages and Images that I've sent over the past 2 months while I was on the CE Scheme.

    Thanks for any help!

Do you have it in writing about the reduced hours (text message or anything)?

Who gave you the letter, the supervisor or the place you're working in?

Only deasp has the power to cut your wages - you need to speak to your supervisor about it. It's possible there was an audit and the supervisor hasn't been keeping a proper account of hours. Also check your contract about pay cuts (if you don't have a copy to hand, the supervisor should be able to give you a copy).

They also can't put one thing in a letter and then verbally tell you it's different. If it's written down, then that's what you go by. There's something dodgy going on. If you're not getting answers from your supervisor, there should be a chain of who to complain to in your contract.
