I'm a regular listener to the Autosport podcast, somehow via Podcast addict quite a few episodes of the podcast, and a few others that are not Irish, have Irish ads at the start and end of the podcast. 30 second skip moves me past them but how are they getting there?

    This too shall pass.

I'd assume the podcast app is using your IP address to determine where you are living and then tailor the advertising to your needs.

Podcasts served through Acast are able to deliver localised ads. Don't know how it works, but maybe it checks your IP when downloading and adds the ads to the file then.
