Hoping someone might be able to help me here. Revenue tell me I need to file a form 11 (I received an inheritance, tax all paid on this). Other than the inheritance I am a PAYE employee and have no other income of any kind. So I'm trying to do this on ROS. I am struggling on the section re. self employed income as I have to fill in something, so I put zeros but it won't accept that either! Any ideas?

why are you filling in income when you don't have it?

save the form and go in again and click on the calculate button and it will tell you what pieces you need to complete

Good question! When I received the letter saying my form 11 was overdue I wrote to them explaining my circumstances and included the details of the tax paid but they replied that I need to do it.

I'll have a look at it again tonight but when I tried to leave it blank it highlighted the spaces I needed to fill in and when I filled in zeros it said that profit and loss couldn't both be zero.

And then my head started to hurt.

Just a pure guess, but it might be income earned by the estate during the administration period, i.e. rent or something like that before you got the inheritance. Although that can be filed by the executors/administrators, in some cases if income arises post Probate it is up to you to file it if you were entitled to any of the post death income.

    Just guessing here.

Yes BOTH can be zero, just fill in one or the other
