Hi, my head is slightly done in...
I have a freewheel Sun Race with a 4 prong nut, sent away for a tool that was too small, got a Park Tool FR 8 that I made fit with extensive hack-sawing and filing, but I'm failing to shift the nut, The edges of the nut are fairly eaten away, possibly from folks opening it with a pointy thing and hammer. The issue is a second broken spoke, the first was replaced by my LBO, but it would get expensive if it become a regular occurrence, hence wanting to fix it myself.
Is the hub nut particular to the whole wheel? Replace the freewheel 14-28 with a better one? I might have access to a 26in wheel, but it's for a disk brake with 8,9,10 cog freehub, my bike is 7 speed freewheel v-brake.
My frame has I.S. brake mounts points. Would it be a sensible/possible to convert the back to mechanical disk and re-fit my cogs? Need new cogs as well?
Anyway, thanks for reading my rant, much obliged for any suggestions.

Grand so, I've dropped the wheel in to my LBS. (Abject failure on my part, but there you go, better let the professionals do it.)
