Gas Fire Only Chimney Removal

    Hi,

My house has a gas fire only chimney that I'd like to remove. The actual gas fire is long gone and boarded over.

It looks like a proper chimney breast, but it's mostly timer framing and empty spaces to the side of concrete housing for the fire, that then reduces in size into a thin concrete chimney that extends up to attic floor level, then it's a flexi duct to the roof.

In the above bedroom it's a very slim breast that's just in the way really, but would be nice to get rid of.

This is not a huge job in my mind, way less work than a proper coal fire load bearing chimney breast removal.

Has anyone ever done something similar?

    Cheers!
