We have one child gone through a Gaelscoil and it was great.

We had no option for a Gaelcholáiste and a year later the Irish competency is dropping off.

Can anyone recommend a suitable program on TG4 for a 13 year old girl that would help sustain some Irish levels.

Unfortunately TG4 have very much abandoned the tween/teen market the past 10 years or so, obviously they'd blaim a lack of funding but they managed to be a lot more innovative with less money in the late 90.

Aifric was a popular one, I think it's on the player? So is Paisean Faisean... :pac:

On their player you’ll find any of the stuff the aired previously such as Arific & another teen drama set in the Gaeltacht can’t think of the name, bloc is their teen strand across social media

You would think politicians would hold tg4 to account for their neglect of the teen market, a teen switchs on TG4 at lunchtime or teatime and they get murder she wrote or the weakest link. What kind of public service broadcasting is that?

Both RTÉ and TG4 would state that the market has moved online.

This gives them the ability to reduce funding to content aimed at the 12-16 yo market.

Really bloc should be part of broadcast TG4 as much as it is for social media.

Neither TG4 or RTÉ can afford to have content digital only (with a pretence of digital first), these type of programmes would better flesh out their broadcast schedules.

I honestly think Sile and Ponc were better with a mix of English language programmes along with news, reviews etc
