Upgrading Hot Water Cylinder

    Hi all,

It would be great if I could get some pointers on upgrading my current Copper 105 litre hot water tank.

Living in a 4 bed with 3 bathrooms with 2 showers. A pump & electric shower in 2 of the bathrooms. Electric shower rarely used but plan to replace it another pump shower over the next few years.

House of 5 with 3 kids aged 3, 7 & 9. The 2 eldest are girls so more shower time required I would imagine in future.

We are trying to future proof with this upgrade as we recently has PV Panels installed too.

Would there be any special requirements on the new Clyinder for this as we have the IBoost installed which heats the water from the PV Panels? Additional coils? I think I need dual immersion.

On the tank size I reckon we probably need a 200 litre or 250 litre based on the Low-High consumption guide.

I got a quote over the weekend which I thought seemed quite high but I would love some guidance on it. All prices include supply, fitting & VAT.

    Without any haggling done.

    - 162L Copper €630
    - 200L Kingspan or Joule Stainless Steel €1250
    - 250L Kingspan or Joule Stainless Steel €1370
    - 300L Kingspan or Joule Stainless Steel €1500

    Thanks for the help
