Where to start on remodelling

    Hi all,
Just wondering where to start on remodelling house?
We want a new kitchen (not with fitted appliances), a wall knocked for open plan kitchen/dining/living area, French doors to patio and a new bathroom! On as much as a budget as possible!!!
We don't know designs, but something simple and modern enough that won't age, nothing high tech or anything gimmicky.
Do we get a contracter? An interior designer?? How many quotes to get? Do we get designs before quotes?
It just seems a bit overwhelming on where exactly to start!
    Thanks for tips!

Firstly you have to finish all the repairable work, plumber work, light work, etc after that paint & installation work. The step by step process give direction to work & finishes at right time.

    Hi

We just got our wall knocked between kitchen and diner. We are using the same company to get new doors and windows, including french doors. Not sure where you're located but I can pm you the details if you like!

For bathrooms I'd say start with the showrooms and get an idea of what you like. Alot of places have their 'in house interior designers'.
