Oculus Rift help needed

    Hello my 10 year old nephew got an oculus rift from santa. But he didn't go it had to be connect to a laptop/ pc.
    What are the cheapest options to get it working?
    My sis was thinking of getting a gaming laptop and use it for vr and a bit of work would this work?
    As the cheepest compatible gaming laptop is +1000e could I get one built for cheeper?
    Any help greatly appreciated
