Looking to travel via air within Thailand, specifically from Chiang Mai to Phuket, flights appear more expensive than i initially thought, anyone have any airlines or websites you would recommend to book with for internal flights in Thailand?

Nok Air. Thai Smile (Thai's 'budget' little sister). Air Asia. Bangkok Airways.

Mind me asking where you are flying from and to? My OH is Thai, and when we head up country ( either Nth or Sth ) we always use the overnight train. Wonderful experience. And cheap also.

On the flying, make sure whoever You decide to go with is covered under insurance. In these uncertain times, one never knows.

Why would the flight not be covered under insurance?

I’m not trying to scaremonger but nobody knows what airlines will/not be around when the OP is there. Even Thai Airways are susceptible to staff reduction rumours. All I’m saying is make sure everything is in order sh Ed n you make the reservation. CV19 & it’s aftermath has created uncertain times.

OP, when you intending being there?

That's not what you said though.

Insurance will be pretty much irrelevant in any case as the flights are likely to cost less than €100 so it's not exactly a huge risk.

Of more relevance at the moment is whether you can even get into the country.
