No, but a circular did issue to state that if you were on probation it could be extended due to covid if your work could not be assessed to complete, 3, 6 and 9 month probation reports for a number of reasons, such as could not work from home etc.

Ya i seen that circular but can they turn around nearly three months later (may) to tell it is suspended since march. Then issue a welcome back message in june to tell ppl with their own IT equipment to log on and welcome back so by my understanding their was no one working from home till june.

I would say it varies from department to department, I am in Revenue still on probation and most of us are working full time from home throughout lock down, I have taken holidays in the last few weeks but other than that we were never off, with our full case load being assessed for weekly and monthly stats. I think overall Revenue was one of the departments where most of the workforce can work remotely. I believe in all of our contracts, our probationary period can be extended at any time while on probation, but the policy is to bring any issues up as soon as possible, this was unprecedented and I suppose in fairness you have to be working to assess suitability for a post.

Most people in most departments were working from home in March, in my experience, whether using corporate devices or their own devices.

Well co level in my dept weren't and one only picked up a laptop from work this week.Ppl on probation shouldn't be treated less favourably.
