    Hi guys

When an electrician puts in a change over switch in a new build. Will there be a socket nearby for generator to power house when power goes out or how does it work? The electrician has changeover switch cable left out in first fix stage but no other cables near by.

That may be the cable for the generator. The changeover switch would most likely go near the distribution board

Would that cable be a socket for generator?

I’ve no idea what setup your contractor is proposing but it’s possible that this cable could be used as a wall plug for the generator
