    Hi All,

I just bought a new car and the dealer gave me the new reg yesterday. The reg is not coming up on any insurance or any motor checks, does anyone know how long the car will show on registrations so I can get insurance? collecting the car Tuesday.

    Thanks!

Just ring around. If you want to drive Tuesday you need to be on the phone Monday getting quotes.

Thought it didn’t show until it was taxed but I could be wrong on that.

Mine was registered Wednesday morning. Couldn't tax until Thursday morning. To switch insurance they inputted manually, just need exact cc from rf100 which dealer should have given you. No major hassle though.

It depends on when the insurance company gets updates from the motor tax database. They can still insure the reg if you give it to them over the phone.

For newly registered cars, you need to ring the insurance company. You can tax them online the day after registration.
