Motorway Car 8k?

Hi,

Looking to buy a new second hand car. I commute daily 5 times per week Waterford to Kilkenny, mainly motorway with some town driving. Diesel preferred for the commute.

Budget at 8000 euro.

Looking more so at a hatchback. Any suggestions from previous experience? I like the usual ones like Golf, but also Seat Leon look appealing. I am open to all suggestions though.
