    Morning all

Got a 2011 ford galaxy with the dreaded powershift gearbox. One of the Solenoids has gone in the gearbox looking at 2000 euro for the part which ford Ford say may solve the problem. Failing that 3500 to fully recondition the gearbox.

My question is repair or replace have been looking at similar models to mine on all the usual sites and they are still making between 6000 and 8000 if in good condition.

    What would you do. Thanks

Is it at the dealer or a gearbox specialist?

Gearbox Centre with 12 month warranty.

2000 euro is the cost of suspect part from ford without labour etc.

247spares.co.uk has been useful to me in the past for quite hard to find parts.

Has the fault shown up on an OBD scan?

Ya fault was shift solenoid E stuck off.
Have tried everywhere for one but can only buy a set for 400 euro.
Then a days work to fit it and no guarantee that it will fix it.
I can get a new valve body, solenoids and mechatronic from the uk for 1000
But again no guarantee that it will solve problem either.

Sorry for your trouble Johnny, and i hope that you find a solution. And for sure, when ever I'm in the market for a car again.... any thing with Ford Mechatronic transmission in it will be banned....
