SAORVIEW is digital terrestial and needs an aerial. Freeview is the UK digital terrestial so you have the satellites FREE TO AIR.

So to get saorview you need a lead from aerial to RF in in box and then you confirgure the DTT tuner to your region and scan. Im in Clare so use MAGHERA and 2 channels 46 and 48. And I use openvix. Tuner must be set as tuner type t2. then region, then off, no. green to save. then go to signal finder select tuner c and enter the appropriate channel number and green to scan, same for other channel number. to get channel numbers go to saorview site and enter your eircode.

    Minor point:
    • Saorview = Ireland's digital terrestrial.
    • Freeview = UK's digital terrestrial, will work on border regions and east coast.
    • Freesat = UK's satellite FTA, but will work anywhere in Ireland. It's a branded box which means they are not officially on sale in Ireland, but easy to get.

Also, to answer the original query (sorry, pressed save too early) - I have a ZGemma and I had issues previously with Saorview in 3 ways:
    1. The aerial was pointing in the wrong direction. To be fair, we have a crappy indoors one for all one, but we're in city and it works perfectly when aligned.
    2. It was picking up the wrong settings for Saorview channels (as previous poster mentioned, check Saorview website to see what correct channels are)
    3. My ZGemma can set the tuner to be cable or terrestrial, I had it wrong. Not sure if this applies for the Tiviar.

and FREE TO AIR is exactly what it says on the tin, it will work out of the box with no need for POST CODE input.

And FREE TO AIR WILL have all the channels, Freesat misses out like C4HD.
