This looks like it could be an all time low for RTE comedy...

Judging by the ad, I won't be falling over myself to tune in.
At this time of all times when people need some escapism, some bright spark decides a comedy of the sh1ttest endurance test in decades is what we want.

I thought it was a Republic of Telly reunion ad

They probably spend €3.4 billion on it to save the day.

Those involved wouldn't be classed as anyway funny. Dermot Whelan, Eric Lalor and Oliver Callan are the ones I recognise. And judging from the state of the rest of the ensemble in the advert, it looks like they will just add to what is ultimately a cretinous collection of character's. I shudder at the very thought of this show.

    Exactly.

You literally could not schedule a Lockdown based comedy show at a worse time than this

Show it during the lockdown - gallows humour, laughs to be had

Show it long after the lockdown - Oh God, that brings back memories, it was such a weird time

Show it just as life is apparently returning to something resembling normality - f*** that, the last thing anyone wants is to be reminded of is the last three and a half months

The content more than likely won't be up to much either way.

We have to stop the craic!

State of it, looks so cheap and amateurish. Have to tune into to see how terrible it will be.

    This is a disgrace.

A concept that feels dated but maybe would've worked as a one off, but that also requires some sharply written humour, which from the bit I saw was non-evident.

Thank goodness for the break. Excuse to turn it off an go to bed. Not funny at all.

You can really tell that they filmed it separately and edited it together. It doesn't really flow. And it's not funny.

Couldn't make head nor tail of that, I presume RTE have signed it up for 2 series?

Embarrassed for those involved. Should have been hidden on the RTE player.

This is so bad I'm going to watch a box set of Mrs browns boys and Give my head peace back to back.

Pretty bad but Dublin people might like it? Theres a Whacker salt a dee earth carachter and a posh character that drinks wine and mentions Brown Thomas so I suppose that's funny?

Didn't watch it knowing it would be awful from the ads, but I kinda want to now based on the above to see how bad it is!

    Reverse-psychology marketing? :D

Ended up watching this last night as was in a hotel with very few channels. Quite possibly the least funny thing I’ve ever seen. Not one of the ‘jokes’ in the initial character introductions worked, but it didn’t stop them repeating them over and over. Had to watch it through to the end to see if there were any redeeming features....but it got worse.

I assume this was a one off show as someone couldn’t possibly have commissioned it for a series??

It was clear from the promos and the names involved that was going to be a dud.

There are others more knowledgeable than I on this type of thing but is there some requirement to broadcast a certain amount of Irish made shows per annum or something?

The script was terrible, there were too many characters, the pacing was too slow and I can't figure out any part of it which was meant to be in any way amusing.

I thought Mary McEvoy's character was quite likeable but I doubt if many people were watching by the time she appeared.

Up there with the worst of RTE's Hall of Shame Comedy failures.

This garbage makes Bridget and Eamon look like Curb your Enthusiasm.

Most RTE comedy is like a school essay fcuked together the night before it's due to be handed up.

I'm glad I've not missed anything, it doesn't even appear it's so bad it's good from the responses.

What grieves me is that I paid for my TV licence last week.
