TAIN Services

Just a curious one. I just logged into my ROS Online facility as an agent and see they have renamed Agent services and now call it TAIN Services.

Any reason why? I don't see any other changes, so maybe it's just a language thing, but curious as to the need to change it..

Wouldn't have spotted that 'til you mentioned it. Maybe someone in IT was bored WFH and decided to mess around see if anyone would spot it !

I know, it just looks odd!

I do think the myenquiries update which shows the status of a query is a great step.

And the speed of replies at present. Generally same day or the next.

Hello all,

Just thought i'd tag onto this thread instead of opening a new one.

I work for a property management business. We generally dont do any tax work. We have a new client for which we need to do VAT returns. While the client is registered with Revenue. We want to set our company up as a tax agent in order to do his returns. Or is it quicker/easier if we get access to his profile and file returns that way. He would have had a previous ta agent.

What are the steps i need to take to register for a TAIN?

I've emailed Revenue a few days ago and also through my PAYE portal but no response to either enquiry.

Once you have a TAIN you need an agent ROS digital certificate
https://www.ros.ie/ros-registration-web/ros-registration?execution=e2s1
& once the TAIN is live you then need to get an agent link form signed by the client and upload to ROS to be registered as their agent.

Once linked you have access then to whatever tax heads you are registered as agent for. You can view/file etc.
You're then set up for any future cases which may arise also and for those you only take the step from agent link on.

Thank you. NationalAgentsTAINregister@revenue.ie is no longer valid, the email address is now nationalTAINregister@revenue.ie. I've followed up again as it is now over a week since i emailed them to request a TAIN.

Thanks for that info. They must have changed the email when they changed the "Agent" part per the original post here.
