I made a decicion last year to get away for a month. Volunteer work seemed like the best way to go. I signed up to a volunteer workers website and aranged to be working this summer. Now, as the time draws near and it is confirmed that the work is actually available. I am getting 'looks' from familiy members about this. I will have to travel the breath of the county to do this volunteer work. Am I crazy to travel now for this?

Depends on the nature of the work of course.
    Can't answer without more information.

What type of volunteer work? Will it put you in frequent contact with many different people or is it physical type work such as cleaning beaches or similar.
If it is the former, then I would ask the organisers what safeguards are in place to prevent contacting and spreading the disease. If it is the latter, you should still be able to do it but should still practice safety measures.

If you signed up last year, and given how the spring went, I'd be surprised if they hadn't taken steps to cancel this and not leave it until last minute.

It's actually a bisiness that is reopening so they were at the call of the government as to start date. It's not charity work or anything. I will get on to them and ask about safety mesures as you advised.

It's pretty safe here now, so if there are basic measures in place I'd go for it.
