    hi all

we had a once in a lifetime family trip planned for this summer which for obvious reasons we had to cancel. luckily we got all the money back so money isn't an issue as I'm putting it all aside for hopefully next yr. Assuming things go to relative normality next year can anyone recommend a split holiday location i.e. 2 weeks beach side chill and 2 weeks adventure/cultural etc. The missus wants somewhere SE Asia ish. 2 adults , 3 kids, 12/10/5

    thanks

South Africa maybe? Not SE Asia but would have plenty of adventure and beaches. We had our honeymoon there and would love to bring our kids there for a trip to remember but they’re a bit young yet.

Great value outside of peak season too. We went in July which is their Winter and it was maybe 20 deg and in three weeks had 2 days of rain. Locals would laugh when they’d see us in T-shirt’s and we’d explain how 20deg is pretty much our summer!

thanks. We have been a few times , have family over there. Agree it would be a brilliant family holiday, but as the saying goes "they've been there, done that" lol.

Vietnam. Had the charm of Asia without the sleaze of Thailand. Hoi An to chill and I'd split the explore section between Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh as they're so different. Loads to do in and around both.

The missus is very much for Vietnam, but June July August are rainy season that far north, i'm pushing her towards indonesia or Central America for better chance of decent weather at that time of the year.
