    Hi guys,
I just bought a car with no NCT, I have booked it in for the end of July but when I booked it in it came up as a re-test.
Is it possible to get the previous test report from the NCT?

NCT won't give it to you due to data protection act. Get it from the seller?

You’ll be liable for the retest next time if you don’t show up or reschedule.

Sorry meant I would bring it to the test and see what happens. From driving the car there seems to be damn all wrong, needs a new inner tie rod but that's it.

If the seller sold it without telling you it had gone through an NCT, i'm guessing it through up something major and the seller wants rid of it and didn't want to tell you what the NCT found out.

It could be that it went through the test but when the lifts were down & therefore it's a retest now. My car is booked in for this Friday for that reason & it came up as a retest when I was booking it.

To be honest, there can be damn all wrong with this car. I have gone through it fairly thoroughly and all I can find is a bush in the steering rack which I have taken out and am waiting for it to come in.

Classics are tested against their original standards, not current modern standards.

So I got on to the NCT and because I am now the registered owner they sent me the test report. It failed on the rear suspension, imbalance of 35% so new shocks needed. It also failed on the emissions as follows:
Low idle co 0.54% above 0.50% fail
High idle co 0.66% above 0.30% fail
I'm ok with the shocks but I am stumped on the emissions, any ideas?

Seems odd the owner didn't mention this when selling the car. Hope you got it for a good price.

Long story, but yes got for a good price. I knew it needed some work and as it's a classic it will be off the road for the winter anyway so I will be doing some work to it then
