With most EU countries listing restrictions within its borders, it might be useful to share experiences of travelling in this “new normal” so future travellers can plan their journeys. I guess the bulk of travel will happen from July 1st but no harm getting the ball rolling

Share your departure airport and destination airport. How long it took to get through and any other relevant information.

(Airport amenities open/closed, trolley access, security queues, face masks mandatory, social distancing measures etc)

Great idea, traveling soon and I am curious as to how far the queues will go if 2m distance is still needed. Imagine queuing under the rain outside the terminal....

Due to essential nature of my work I've taken several trips recently.

    Observations are:

    1) Avoid SAS - was 176 on a 180 seat A320 5 weeks ago DUB-ARN, I was lucky enough to be one of the few who had a free seat beside me.

    2) Flew to / from AMS with EI 3 weeks ago and was very well done, boarding strictly 4 rows at a time back to front with no one in middle seats. No food / no lounges / no priority security etc.

    3) I came back through AMS yesterday morning with KLM. Check-in was total chaos and I'll be avoiding KLM in the future at AMS.

Queue for check-in / bag drop was 50 minutes - with the queue back through the terminal far beyond the barriers they had in place. I asked and apparently Saturday morning was even worse. Only half the checkin desks open - and KLM employees told me there is worse to come as AMS and KLM are letting more people go. Numbers around 5% of normal - what's going to happen when more start travelling??

Overall obedience to mask wearing seems to be rising. More people yesterday in AMS wearing them than previous journey. There was mostly plenty room to keep 2 metres away anyway. Same in Dublin, people seem to be figuring out that masks not needed if plenty room but you see more people putting them on say at the gate area when people start to gather.

Hope that helps if anyone thinking of travelling. Personally, I wouldn't be flying right now if I didn't have to - if nothing else the masks get very uncomfortable after an hour or more. I can't imagine doing TA or further with one without itching my face like mad :)
