A group called TEAL Ireland has been on FB for 2 years. There is more recently established TEAL Ireland Twitter account, too.

TEAL stands for Teaching English as Additional Language so it is for children for whom English or Irish are not home languages. We promote ALL children becoming multilingual and encourage pluralingualism in schools which includes English, Irish and all languages!

You can find support, yearly schemes, planning help, policy support, ideas for how to support your English language learners remotely as well as face to face ideas.

It has over 1,300 members and includes both primary and post-primary teachers. It is not only for EAL teachers, but all people who would like to learn more about how to more effectively address the inclusion of English language learners in the mainstream class, too.

You are welcome to join this FREE group where no advertising or membership fees are required. Please visit the TEAL Ireland Facebook page where you can request to join.

It is a TEACHER to TEACHER group for peer support where ALL teachers / SNAs are welcome to come to seek to share and learn!

    Thanks!
