Combi box for ease of use

Hi folks Aunt has ariva 120. Was working fine but a lightning storm seems to have knackered the aerial tuner. Replacement box required but she has satellite (via box) and saorview via TV for now. She doesn't need record etc. What's the best option to go for that easy to use? Thanks Mick

If she has both terrestrial and satellite through the tv and doesn't want record function then I don't see what need there is for a box.

A freesat box will give the full EPG for UK channels with the TV for Saorview.

Freesat boxes hard to come by I found, the only real option is the Manhattan HD box on amazon. I've been looking for an sd Freesat box for an old TV for an age but can't find one

Freesat boxes are not hard to come by.

New Manhattan non-record for £49:

Why would you want or need a SD box? Anything with a scart output will work with anything but an ancient TV. Plenty of older boxes available on ebay that would do fine.

Bush used to do a good Freesat sd box but can't find it anymore on amazon. I suppose you're right but I couldn't justify spending 50 quid on the Manhattan when it's for a TV that's hardly ever used. Never thought of ebay will have a look

She struggles with switching inputs on tv so would be better with a single epg.. she doesn't have sat through tv only saorview

Not recommended, reading this thread from 4 years ago. If you want one they are €10 cheaper than DID with other sellers.

The 154 is discontinued now - replaced by 254

Walker TVs do a good job of combining satellite and saorview inputs into an easy to use menu with one remote. No box required.
