Flaw in airline IT systems

This flaw is in at least Ryanair, Aer Lingus and BA IT systems.

Even though you notify them of your new email address and they acknowledge it and you confirm it back as requested they continue to use the old email address for communication re previous bookings. They don't seem to get it that the passenger may no longer have access to the previous email address.

This is of particular importance now to thousands who are moving from an eircom email address due to the imposition of charges from 1st July.
This means that the airlines will be sending important emails that these passengers will not now receive.

Eircom (Eir) had originally intended to extinguish accounts of non-payees much earlier but extended the deadline due to Covid-19. Had they acted earlier I would not have received subsequent important flight information emails and I know of many more in the same boat with at least those three airlines.

It's extraordinary that such a simple but important matter is being overlooked.

Never had a problem with Aer Lingus

Work book the flights, I change to personal email online, emails come to my personal account...

Its per booking only, you cannot change it once the trip is complete nor will changing your profile change the email used on previous bookings

All that said you don't need the email address to check in...

All very good but nothing to do with the subject I posted about.
