Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Hi, i want to get a Vitus Mythique, VR, VRS or VRX , 1250, 1450 or 1599 respectively. Is there a decent difference between Shimano Deore and SX Eagle? I have a €2k road bike with Shimano 105 which are more than good enough for anyone and I really wouldnt recommend spending extra to get Ultegra. Does the same apply for Deore vs SX?

Theres also the front suspension the cheaper model has X-Fusion Sweep Boost 140mm forks vs Marzocchi Bomber Z2 140mm. does a newbie need Marzocchi or am I going to regret having crappy shifters and crappy forks every day i ride?

    thanks for any inputs

Chainreaction now have stock in and i want to use my bike to work scheme

Deore vs SX Eagle - Take it or leave it.

I'd absolutely go for the Z2 fork though.
Nothing worse than a fork letting you down, you can always look to upgrade the drivetrain over time but upgrading a fork usually is a larger investment.

I have deore on my 2018 Vitus Sommet and it hasn’t missed a beat in two years. The largest cog is a 42t which is small in comparison but I’ve honestly found I’m a stronger rider as a result. I can pedal uphill using it while others use their 50/51t cog. Also quite cheap to rePlace consumables with the cassette at around €40 and chain €20. However, do not skimp on the fork. The marzocchi gets great reviews and is well worth the extra cash. Check out the PinkBike review of the Vitus Mythique. It did very well against some big name brands. Vitus are rarely bet on the geometry components you get for the price. If I were you I’d fork out (excuse the pun) and go for the top model.

Go for the VRX with the Sram Eagle and the Marazocchi Fork.

Well worth the extra 400 odd quid for that fork and drivetrain.

The gearing is way better too compared with the Deore.
