Stroke Rehab unit in the Louth

Does anyone know if this unit is still operating as I cannot get a clear answer anywhere.

My dad had a stroke a few weeks ago and is in Lourdes but the current stroke unit there is down a lot of staff and to be honest he is not getting the treatment he should.

On a sidenote does anyone know of any physio's that specialise in Stroke rehab in Dundalk, as our aim is to get him walking and back to where he was again.

    Thanks.

I asked my sister for advice for you there, she used to work in the area. She advised that you push to get a transfer to Dundalk Stroke rehab unit, it's like a step down Stroke rehab unit. There is a physio in there who everyone sings the praises of. Apparently excellent. He is HSE of course and she's asked him if he does private, he can't. If you're looking for a private physio she will ask round for recommendations.

Hope that helps. I wish your dad a speedy recovery.
