    Hello All,

I am currently living in London and will be travelling to Northern Ireland first time in September and wish to visit Londonderry and Belfast.

Will it be a good time to visit?

Also, as I will be travelling alone may need help to know the nearest station of the area and get the directions. Does City Mapper or Google Map works there?

    Thanks in advance!

I wouldn't use that name if I was looking for directions, bit of friendly advice.
Grand time of the year to be visiting

Check if Google maps works in London. If so you should have no worries about it working on your visits in September.

Theres no Internet in Derry or Belfast, you'll have to print out screenshot of your Google maps onto A3 pages before you travel

Yes....they have the internet in northern Ireland...
    Ha ha

Have a nice time, Derry is a fun spot imo it's small and the walk along the walls is nice, definitely go and see the murals etc.
There is also an excellent brewery that does food across the peace bridge.
I can recommend the bishops gate hotel in Derry if you are looking for a nice hotel

Lot more in the way of tourist attractions in Belfast than Derry, really good restaurants and pubs as well

Ah, she'd be fine with about half the people up there. The other half definitely wouldn't like it though.

But will they be open in September is the question. A lot of places won't reopen and I'd say a few that do won't stay open long, no tourists and social distancing will mean that most pubs/restaurants won't be profitable.

Well the bishops gate is open on 20th July, walled city brewery looks to be opening soon.
I don't know how reliant Derry is on international tourists tbh.

+1 once you leave the 'mainland', the internet stops.

There is a bus that runs from International airport to a depot beside Ramada Hotel

I've stayed at the Ramada many times and its a decent hotel, comfortable, good on site restaurant and 20min walk into city

cant give any advice for Belfast but Derry has some nice bars & restaurants

    btw, its Derry, not Londonderry
