Wifi Dongle

Have old Dell laptop that has Dell Wireless 1397 Wlan Mini Card

It can only seem to pick up the 2.4ghz and not 5ghz

Checking Google and no options but wifi dongle might work

Any suggestions as just going to use it for Browsing and email nothing more

Dont want to open it up and install new card

yes buy a usb wife dongle and you should be ok.

older cheaper usb 2.0 dongles are cheaper than usb 3 ones but if it's an old laptop then usb 2 is probably all that it has

Picked this up installed drivers etc. Network has WiFi 1 and 2. Neither of them have 5ghz option. I searched list of networks and still can only find 2.4

Any suggestions

That TL-WN823N is only a 2.4GHz device so no chance it will see 5GHz networks.

OK its going back replace it with one that can get 5ghz

yes there are several options on the page - only some are dual-band - the ones with dual-band in the name.
