I phoned my bank to close my credit card account, they told me it will cost €60 to close it. €30 stamp duty is due on April 1st but revenue delayed this until July 1st and another €30 to close the account.

€30 should be the only bill to close your card (stamp duty) but don't understand why the bank charging you another €30?
Did they say what it was for?

I had the same situation and was told it was because stamp duty for the last year was delayed a number of months due to Coronavirus and now we are in the next year and so both are due.

    This was Bank of Ireland.

€30 stamp duty for last year, & €30 stamp duty this year.

Unfortunately they are correct. At anytime it is €30 to close, and you have to add in the delayed €30 also.
