Cracked wall in new build

Has anyone ever seen cracks on the inside walls and outside walls of new build houses ?

We saw cracks in the wall in the master bed, wall outside the house In the garden side, and wall behind stairs.
Could this be due to structural issues or is it just due to the house "settling". The house was built a year ago.

If you've experienced this before I'd like to know what you did about this as I'm considering getting a survey done.

I wouldn't have expected to see cracks especially as it's a newly built house.

cracks are quite common in new houses, timber drying outing and the like.
maybe the house was dried out too quickly with UFH or a de humidifier
I presume you mean hair-line type

Totally normal. Just leave them for 18-24 months at least before going at them, before that you're probably fighting a losing battle.

Keep an eye out for any that appear in grouting in the shower or around the shower tray as these ones need to be fixed.

Just wondering, did you get a snagging inspection prior to moving in? Might be a good idea to check your agreement because I think for some, builders are required to provide help for a certain period of time after the turnover or sale.
