After 15 odd years of broadband our provider is going into liquidation and no one else seems to be able to provide us with a service so unfortunately I'm at a dead end as to what to do.
We live in a remote location which had great phone coverage until windmills surrounded us and seemed to take all our phone coverage so option 1 is get a booster to try get 4g into the house, then get a modem which I can connect to a wireless router and see how that works out?
    or
Option 2 - Pay 70 odd a month for satellite broadband from someone like bigblu?
Which is the best in people opinions? At the minute I don't really have any phone coverage in the house but can get 2 bars of 4g outside but the house but the download speeds are very poor on this.
Unfortunately I need to have a relatively ok connection so price is probably the secondary equation to actually being able to get a product that works?
    Thanks

    Sat is trash.

Don't get a booster + LTE modem, get an LTE modem + antenna on a pole. No need to have two wireless legs in the chain. Survey your area with all three MNOs (three PAYG sim cards) first to see where you might get service from. If you know somebody with a rooted Android phone you can use Cellmapper to create some great maps.

A family member had to install sat broadband recently due to WFH, BigBlu business package with 150Gb monthly priority data allowance. 25-35 Mbps down.
Within 2-3 weeks they has consumed the priority allowance and were due to drop back down to contended speed, haven't got an update since. Much of the allowance was consumed by Netflix, Disney etc. which they will be keeping under control next month.

BigBlu aren't currently offering a domestic package on the Eutelsat Ka-Sat spot beam 24 at the moment due to capacity issues, business only. RTÉ's Saorsat also using this beam is reducing the SR from July 1st, again due to capacity issues. Eutelsat's interim HT satellite, Konnect, was launched last Jan but hasn't gone into service yet due to Covid and earth station issues, when it goes live customers can be offloaded to the new sat.

Not sure how the other sat broadband providers are doing with the Astra and Avanti satellite broadband offerings.
