    People abandon pets on the canals and parks in Dublin on annoyingly-regular basis unfortunately!

    there are at least three in the botanic gardens, and a garden centre we frequent has 7 in their pond, i think - two of which they actually authorised.

    I've also heard of a few more in Tymon Park. I wonder if they start to proliferate, what kind of impact they'd have on local wildlife. The'd be eating the green's right?

    i don't think they breed here - either that the winters are too cold or the summers aren't warm enough?
