    Hi all,

    Looking for some advice

1st. Already dealing with tech suppport at OBDELEVEN

Installed high beam assist app for Tiguan and have uninstalled and reinstalled numerous times (100 credits a pop). OBDELEVEN have been helpful with refunds

    Everything works
Auto icon shows on the dash
Goes from grey icon to blue when required

Main problem is I have loss access to my physical high beams

Both in auto and manual mode

    Any advice would be welcome

    Regards

    Silverski

The apps in OBDEleven are just manual coding and tweaks done for you, if you have access to the pro version you can go in and fix manually any errors the app has caused with the coding. The apps are a good idea but they are not well implemented yet and many don't work or break the car. You should always do your changes manually and backup first.

Also be sure to use only the android version not ios as its only barely an alpha and is missing many features and others don't work properly. The gen 2 dongles also have some issues over the gen 1. They are working to see can they be fixed in firmware and not need a full hardware replacement.

Yeah it sounds like the app has made a bollocks of the coding. Unfortunately you dont know how it was originally now.

Dont think that info is available unless you know someone with a Tiguan of the same spec that you could copy from or a dealer could set it back right.

Did you do a backup before you did the mod?

    Hi all

    Thanks for the replies

I am not have much help from OBDELEVEN support
They have checked my backup and found no problems
They have said that the gen 2 unit would not be faulty

I did not think of doing a backup before using the apps

I have been given credit for the app and have set to orginal and now have my highbeams

But just frustrated that my Tiguan can support high beam assist but VW won’t enable it and that the app can’t either

Many thanks again for your replies

    Cheers

The high beam assist is ****e in them anyway. Far too slow to react.

You'll spend the whole drive manually overriding the high beam assist and getting in a fluster with the stalk.

    Probably best left alone.

    Hi

    Appreciate your reply

Mainly wishing to have it, for my wife when she drives it.

The main reason being that the dealership told us it was included as part of the functionality of the car
This was one of the deciding factors in choosing this model.

Given where we live it will work fine

    Cheers

Stuff like this is why i'd be hesitant to use OBDeleven and the likes , never comfortable with the changing of many lines of coding with one push of a button (or coding wirelessly)

If you found someone with VCDS and a similar spec car then you should be able to reverse it all by running adaption maps on the appropriate controller on the 'working' car and then going through all the adaptions on your car - it would be tedious as the newer cars have literally hundreds of options in the adaption channels and most of them are in German.
