Help! Zanussi dishwasher continually trying to empty water

    Dishwasher sounds like a pump is running continuously trying to empty the water. A well known problem. Only a power off will stop the pump.

    Searches tell me it's an anti-flood issue. There's water somewhere it shouldn't be and when it's detected, the m/c turns on the pump continuously.

    I get that. But where is this water? Search says 'in the base of the m/c'.

    Attached pic is as far south as I can see and there's no water there.
    There's also no water on the floor. Where else can I look?
    The m/c is a Zanussi ZDT24001FA

    Any help or suggestions to remedy would be much appreciated.

    Pull out the machine after having it unplugged and tilt it forwards towards the floor, stand upright again and check

    Thanks for that. But what is the purpose of this?
    I don't doubt you but want to understand what is going on.
    Where is this water? Will it come out of the machine when I tilt it forward?
    Is there likely a leak? From where to where?

    Problem solved. Front panel comes off easily - 6 screws.
    Lots of water. Mopped up. Pump no longer running.
    Did a test cycle and no sign of water dripping down into the tray.
    I do wonder how the water got there in the first place.
    At least it's working again.

    Ok so you want to know the purpose of the aqua stop, since the advent of wooden floors becoming popular if a machine leaks onto a wooden floor and causes warping the amt of claims would be enormous so to stop this happening the d/w is fitted with the aqua stop, very simple device a little well in the floor with a piece of aero board fitted into it, with the smallest amount of water escaping the board raises and activates a micro switch to bring in the pump to empty the machine but alas the water under the aero board can’t be got at until you tilt the machine like I told you ,no need for dismantling.machines leak for any number of reasons but primarily from pressure caused by steam thus the occasional leak
